How Varo Universal Registry handles and protects your data.

Last updated: April 2026

1. Blockchain Transparency

You acknowledge that the metadata you provide (such as work title, description, creator name) and the file hash will be recorded on the Public Blockchain (Polygon), which is publicly accessible and verifiable by anyone.

⚠️ Recommendation: Please avoid entering sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) such as national ID numbers, addresses, or phone numbers in public metadata fields.

visibility Public Data (On-chain)

  • Registration title
  • Description
  • Creator name
  • File hash (SHA-256)
  • Registration timestamp
  • Token ID
  • Wallet address
  • IPFS URI (Public mode only)

2. Confidential Document Protection

For confidential enterprise-level documents, when using Client-Side Hashing mode (via browser or offline tool), Varo will:

lock What the System Processes

  • ✅ Extracts and stores only the "Hash value (digital fingerprint)"
  • Never uploads or stores your actual file content on our servers under any circumstances

🔒 For maximum assurance, you can use the Offline Hash Tool to extract the hash in a completely air-gapped environment.

3. Privacy Modes

public Mode 1: Public Storage (IPFS)

Files are encoded and stored on the decentralized IPFS network with coordinates recorded on the Blockchain. Ideal for artwork meant for exhibition or listing on marketplaces.

Exposed data: Original file + all metadata

wifi_off Mode 2: Privacy-First Client-Side Hashing

Varo absolutely does not receive or touch your actual file content. The system reads the file to extract the "digital fingerprint (SHA-256 Hash)" on your own device (client-side), then only sends the Hash code and document name to be timestamped on the Blockchain.

Exposed data: Hash value + document name only

4. Data We Collect

storage User Account Data

  • Username
  • Registration email
  • Wallet address — if connected
  • Varo KeyCoin balance
  • Registration history

5. Data Immutability

Since data recorded on the Blockchain is immutable (cannot be modified or deleted), we cannot perform "Right to Erasure" or "Right to be Forgotten" for on-chain data. However, user account data on our servers can be deleted or modified upon request.
